Job Title: Dimensional Laboratory Test Technician II
Job Summary:
Inspects, audits, and reports on materials, processes, and products using variable or attribute measuring instruments and techniques to ensure conformance with both the company quality standards and the technical requirements of ISO 17025. 0-10% Travel.
Responsibilities:
- Follow laboratory test requirements, perform dimensional and mechanical tests as required by the quality, engineering, and research departments.
- Blue Print reading with correct interpretaion of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
- Competant use of the following: basic measurement hand tools, scales, gages, torque gages, optical tools, surface analyzer, Vickers Hardness Tester, and coordinate measuring equipment.
- Through correct interpretation of GD&T;, develop measurement plans and CMM programs
- Apply proper methods for the handling and verification of gages and precision instruments
- Data collection and data entry,
- Prepare and distribute various reports along with some standardized quality charts and graphs
- Analyze data using standard statistical concepts and graphing
- Create and maintain laboratory quality system documentation and records.
- Sampling and sample collection, as required.
- Assist in the coordination and maintainance of the gage calibration program by maintaining gage traceability.
- Maintain laboratory files, documents, and records, as required
- Participate in measurement and gaging studies.
- Monitor methods of technicians in training, as authorized by the laboratory manager.
- Continual self improvement
- Contribute to the continual improvement of the laboratory and quality department through established metrics
- Adhere to Cobasys� quality policy and the laboratory safety and technical requirements
- Ad hoc projects as assigned
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- CMM experience
- Methodical with attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Analytical
- Experienced with MS Office software (Excel and Word).
- Experience with the technical requirements and documentation related to ISO 17025
- Knowledge of statistical concepts
- Associates degree in quality or quality related discipline with 1-2 years experience
- ASQ Certified Mechanical Inspector with a minimum of 1 year of experience,
OR - Equivalent/applicable work experience, such as mechanical/dimensional laboratory experience, 4 � 6 years.
